Smart City Expo World Congress Barcelona

Last 18th- 20th of November 2014 Barcelona became the world capital of the cities. Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC ) gathered for 3 days at the Fira de Barcelona more than 50 mayors , 41 international delegations and 400 speakers addressing major challenges future of cities combining disciplines such as mobility, technology, energy efficiency, environment, population management, urban planning and the knowledge economy.

At this event attended official delegations from cities of five continents in search of solutions they can offer to their cities through the 232 participants companies that were present at the event sharing knowledge and technology. Delegations from different emerging countries like Brazil, China, Côte d'Ivoire, India, Indonesia, and Malaysia with major challenges in development and creation of basic services, and other countries such as Germany, Argentina, Austria, South Korea Denmark, USA, Holland, Israel, Japan and the UK participated to the event with major interest.

In this context iCity Project was presented at the stand of Barcelona City Council as one of the strategic smart city projects of the city. Furthermore, during the exhibition days, cities representatives and stakeholders had the opportunity to interact with technical members of the iCity Consortium, createing further collaborations.
