Retevision headquarters in Barcelona hosts on the 10th and 11th of July the iCity project fourth Consortium meeting. This is an important internal meeting to evaluate the project in its half way point of activity as well as to implement the iCity platform and the development activities in the four participant cities.

The meeting program will address the most important aspects of the project. Among its participants there will be representatives of the cities of Barcelona, Genova, Bologna and London alongside a group of European companies and institutions: Abertis, Cisco, Fraunhofer Fokus, the Univesitat Oberta de Catalunya and Citilab.

During the last months the project members have worked intensely to get the iCity platform ready to be launched. On Wednesday the 10th, the participants will analyze and evaluate the state of the platform: its private and public portal and its API. Then the iCity project will be ready to start it’s pilots.

The iCity project begins a new phase in which the interaction with the innovation communities of the participants cities will be extremely important. The 11th the meeting will focus on the planning, scheduling and communication of the pilots and the co-creation and development events to take place from now on.

The iCity project encourages the participation of developers and companies to develop public interest services for the new urban spaces of smart cities. In this framework, the cities will open a number of public infrastructures closed to this date for their use on the iCity platform. The iCity project facilitates and creates an ecosystem in which different creative actors (developers, small and medium enterprises, searching ...) existing in the cities work together to develop, from this platform, new services that the cities can offer to their citizens. You will find more information and a form to join the group of interest in the project's website.
